The Advantages of Name Tags At A Party

No one likes them, but they have become a staple of many a modern party; we refer, of course, to name tags. While it may seem bizarre to label yourself – if not downright animalistic – these simple, quick tags can help cover any manner of socially awkward situations.
Take, for example, the following scenario: you have arrived at a party, and are making your way through the room, shaking hands and greeting guests. Some of them you know, some of them you do not. If you have a good host, they introduce you to the people you do not know and probably provide a tidbit of information so you can start a conversation. If your host needs to brush up on their social skills, you are left to flounder alone – right up until one dreaded moment. In this moment, someone you don’t know – or at least, you think you don’t know! – approaches you, arms wide, smile on face and saying your name in cheerful greeting. They clearly know you, but you haven’t a clue who they are.
It’s happened to us all, and thankfully, the name tag is what is needed to unstick someone from this sticky situation. If the person you don’t recognize is wearing a name tag, you can take a quick glance at it and at least be able to respond to their greeting and bluff the rest out. Therefore, afford this level of polite ignorance to your guests, and insist everyone who attends your party is wearing a name tag.
